Rise of the Ford Bronco

The re-birth of the Ford Bronco

The Ford Bronco is making a comeback! And look – nostalgia sells, plain and simple. What once was a staple of the 60s, 70s, and 80s has made a comeback stronger than ever. Even the famous actress, Sidney Sweeney of Euphoria, restored a vintage 1969 Ford Bronco, telling Gear Patrol that she loves “a good all-American car.” But that’s just it – the Ford Bronco is an American pastime. So much so that its legacy is filtering into today’s generation. The Ford Bronco has been in numerous movies and tv shows, cementing its legacy in the older generation’s minds and staking its claim on the younger generation.

According to a January 2022 report by Ford, the “Ford Bronco family of vehicles, including Bronco and Bronco Sport sales were up 77.9 percent.” And this popularity surge is just making it apparent that the Ford Bronco is definitely a vehicle we shouldn’t look past. The re-birth of the Ford Bronco into popular culture isn’t just for the classic looks, but it’s also about utility and off-road capability.

A wild ride

Did you know that Ford was one of the innovators who contributed to making the Jeep during World War II? And because veterans and outdoor customers enjoyed the convenience of an off-road vehicle so much, Ford decided to design a vehicle that did just that – but with interior and exterior upgrades. The Ford Bronco made its debut in 1966 and was remodeled a few times since then. It became the first vehicle to be specifically called a “sports-utility vehicle,”or SUV, making it an instant American classic, thanks to the timeless design and functionality.

However, within the past few years, the Bronco has truly left an impression. The last model to come out was in 1996, but with over 20 years of the Bronco being off the market, Ford decided to release a new Bronco back in 2021. Since then, the resurgence of the Ford Bronco has been making waves, including rivaling other off-road vehicles like the Jeep Wrangler. Although the Bronco has long been synonymous with off-road capabilities, like 4×4 and a V8 engine, the new 2021 and 2022 models are becoming the new go-to vehicles of today’s generation. Why? Because of the need for adventure.

You can’t tame a wild spirit

The word “bronco” means a “wild, untamed horse.” And, it’s pretty apparent why Ford wanted their adventurous vehicle to be called a Bronco because, like these horses, the Ford Bronco is for people who love the outdoors and lead adventurous lifestyles. Especially after the past two years, people are seeking new experiences in nature. They want to pursue adventure outside the city and off the pavement, which is why with all the off-road capabilities of the Ford Bronco, it’s now becoming the new go-to vehicle.

You can take off the doors and roof panels, giving you a wholesome wild experience. Feel the wind rush through your hair and face as you take the Bronco off the ridden path. If you have a family, then you’ll be happy to hear that the Bronco has plenty of space so they can experience the freedom and durability of any adventure too. And, since the release of the first Bronco, Ford has referred to it as G.O.A.T., or “Goes Over Any type of Terrain” – an internal code name that we agree with.

People are trying to get their hands on the classic Ford Bronco because of the flexibility. Thanks to the mid-size design, you can drive it downtown in any city. But, you can also take it off-road and let it climb rocky terrains for the most fun adventure yet.

Great choice. Request a test drive.
